What I try to live by
My values, beliefs, how I want to lead my life, and the people who inspire me.
Values
-
High agency
If something matters, I find a way to make it happen instead of waiting for permission.
-
Ambition
Picking problems big enough that getting halfway is still worth it.
-
Deep curiosity
Following a question until I understand it from the bottom up.
-
Caring
Showing up for people, and taking their problems as seriously as my own.
-
Courage
Starting before I feel ready, and saying what I think.
Beliefs
What I believe currently
- Learning rate is a higher quality signal than experience.
- The biggest things are created by repeated small actions.
- Simple, but effective beats clever.
- Substance and skill over prestige and credentials.
- Deep reading and writing are new-age skills.
- It’s all just a matter of perspective.
My predictions
What I think will happen, written down so I can check back. Made in October 2026.
- Robot hands and actuators, not models, will be what holds physical intelligence back.
- The best robot models will come from teams that build their own hardware, because the body shapes what can be learned.
- Brain–computer interfaces will be a routine treatment for paralysis within ten years.
- The scarce skill won’t be building with AI but checking its work: knowing when a result is wrong.
- As AI writes more, people who can read deeply and sit with one hard problem will become rare and valuable.
Outdated
Things I used to believe, and what changed my mind.
- Top-tier raw intelligence is needed to be successful. What changed my mind: seeing people who learned fast and kept at it outpace people who started smarter.
Ways I want to lead my life
- Make things, often, and share them.
- Tell good stories, and live a few worth telling.
- Keep pushing my own limits.
- Understand from first principles, but do from accumulated skill.
- Help others as often as I get the opportunity.
- It’s not what you do, but how you do it.
- Live life with urgency.
- Experiences over things.
- Allow yourself to be disliked, but don’t do things that make you dislike yourself.
How I lead
- Lead from the front while leaving no one behind.
